SCOTT SIMMONS/FLORIDA WEEKLY SCOTT SIMMONS/FLORIDA WEEKLY The Dish: The Piccante

The Place: Lynora’s Market and Deli, 3301 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach; 561-444-3932 or www.lynorasmarket.com.

The Price: $11.95

The Details: I’ve enjoyed Lynora’s restaurants.

My first visit to Lynora’s Market was a bit of a disappointment — underdone pizza crust from which all the toppings slid off during the trip home.

My second visit was much better, with good food and fine company.

The space is a former service station — food is prepared in the back of the former garage bays, and there is seating inside and out. There’s a constant stream of patrons ordering food for dining in and ordering fare to go.

Eggplant parmagiano was hearty, in a rich tomato sauce.

This sandwich, called the Piccante, lived up to its spicy name, with cherry peppers and spicy salami filling a hoagie roll loaded with cappicola, provolone, lettuce, tomato and onion, all dressed with oil and vinegar.

It was a good eating on a summer night, and we washed down our meals with an excellent house pinot noir. ¦
